Docol M grades are fully martensitic cold reduced steels. Docol M grades are characterizd by good formability at these high strength levels combined with good weldability. All conventional welding methods can be used due to the lean chemical composition.

Minimum tensile strength levels from 1200 N/mm2 to 1400 N/mm2 are available, in thickness from 0,5 to 2,0 mm.

Typical applications are automotive safety components such as bumpers and door impact beams.

Docol M grades are also available in electrogalvanized condition.

The bendability och M steels is good. Roll forming is widely used for M steels and this also permits smaller radii compared to those archived when bending. When shearing and punching Docol M steels it is particulary important to use the right cutting clearances.
