Docol YP/LA

Docol YP grades are high strength low-alloyed (HSLA) steels intended for general presswork, forming and bending operations, offering consistent properties that assist modern rapid production methods. We can also supply customers with equivalent microalloyed steels known as Docol LA and conforming to the provisions of EN 10268.

Grades are available with minimum yield strength levels from 220 to 500 N/mm², in thicknesses from 0.4 to 3.0mm.

Ideal for hot-dip galvanizing up to yield strength 350 N/mm2.

Typical applications include automotive presswork, shelving, racking, locks and general componentry.

Select these materials as the option to downgauge from a mild steel. This will not only save weight but the total cost will generally decrease as the quantity of steel needed is reduced.

These grades can be bent, sheared and punched on standard workshop equipment. Slightly higher forces may be necessary but this does not generally cause problems.

These grades are fully weldable by standard methods.
